<br />
i've been making several bags to throw goodies in...haha, like this knitty sheep, mary jane undies (which sold fast on <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/SeamReapers?ref=si_shop">etsy</a>!..need to make s'more), and handys...haha<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
i like this little guy...soft fleece and a squishy body...pockets for the front and zipper for his braaain (no, not really, but that's on the list, zombie pillow)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
it's exciting that the business is growing...but the fun has been harder to find...i'm thinking of taking a break...maybe do something new...but my machine and it's buddies in storage..not just the sewing room or garage, but away. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
figured since my dirty 30 is less than a month, i can do something new. see how it goes for a year..like wear a "grown-up" shirt once a week (haha, give my metallica and woot shirts a break)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
it's been a long time since i've had the firey passion, i can feel my soul getting cold</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
i'll finish up the open orders and list for the craft fairs, but i think once the dirty 30 is officially here, i'll hang up my sissors</div>

last june, there was class on string piecing...using up scraps and not to worry about bringing any, the strings would be provided...just another reason for me to hoard my scraps....haha, i also came home with the leftovers...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
i had a different design for the quilt; i think i was going to sash the 12" blocks and have some 9" and 6" for the boarder...but this...is complete chaos...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
rainbows have been my style lately....red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
my ol man helped me figure out the design for this quilt. sort of reminds me of a watercolor set. i'm going to try and quilt a paint brush on the rainbow strip and stipple the rest. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
the only thing i don't like about this quilt is having to take off the paper from the blocks...maybe next time i'll use old fabric or dryer sheets...something i can just leave on</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
*sigh* another ufo out of the way...</div>

i'm not going to bother with updateting with what i've done since december...<br />
so let's just start new here...(maybe update flicker account?)<br />

<br />
this one is the same block concept, but done in 30's reprints. it's a thank you for my grandma who gave me her treddle. <br />

<br />
and i secretly started another quilt...<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">with the upcoming brithday of a good friend, another friend and i quickly made 3 of each block 1 and 2 from last year's block of the month from the local quilt guild. added 2" sashing and did 2" criss-cross quilting, the quilt was complete. it's our tester. i think for the next one, stitiching around and in teh stars...or just one star. with the success of this quilt, several more will definetly follow :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

<br />
lo and behold! i one the first month, total of 3 big blocks...i gave her mine and kept hers (and the extra one)<br />
<br />
the rest of the quilt blocks consisted of making 2 of the same blocks a month, with different colors...<br />
<br />
between my friend and i, we won ALL the months...haha, easy when it's just the two of us :/ so every month, we'd win and swap blocks.<br />
<br />
the only month we didnt win was october's block, but, it was because the block wasnt part of the series...<br />
<br />
so here's my wicked witch of the east...thing 1...<br />
<br />
i'm going to add different size prairie points on the top and a pair of black/white strip legs with red shoes on the bottom...so damn goofy<br />
<br />
my friend assembled her's the way the instructions suggested...<br />
<br />
did i mention that after winning (and realizing it was just the 2 of us out of the 70+ ladies) i started picking out UGLY...no, FUGLY fabric...fabrics that are the "wtf-why-did-they-make-this!?"<br />
<br />
all of my blocks (excpet the big halloween block) are from my friend...and scrap fabric<br />
<br />
hoping to get it sandwiched, quilted and ready for the county fair in august.metal mamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04867159811970897698noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2553886380163237222.post-223759057090390902011-05-18T19:17:00.000-07:002011-05-19T08:44:58.966-07:00shirts, skirts and sackswith about 24 students in her class, the hurricane has been to quite a few partys. the standard gift, a bag, hair clips, bubbles, and maybe a coloring book. these bags were made for a party on sat, then on wed of spring break. the bag's reversable and i added the girl's names on the "inside" of the bag. <br />

so while looking for fabric to make a new maternity shirt, the hurricane stated that she wanted that fabric for her own shirt...<br />
<br />
really? the black fabric w/ "blood" and hearts and the other stuff? <br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">well, i guess since it has sparkles it was cool....and roses...and hearts w/ wings...hm...</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

<br />
and so does my friend's five-year old...at his brother's party, he asked me if he could have a car-eating dino...haha, i dont remember the convo, but any excuse to try something new, i'm there.<br />
<br />

<br />
larry's made of halloween fabric, the flimsy "satiny" feel...so to make it a lot easier to work with, i ironed fusible inerfacing to it.<br />
<br />

<br />
and here is mr. oogie boogie man...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4dUHyBz1PfM/TPf1jlDeuqI/AAAAAAAAAcI/f53QzwJdFNw/s1600/oogie1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4dUHyBz1PfM/TPf1jlDeuqI/AAAAAAAAAcI/f53QzwJdFNw/s640/oogie1.jpg" width="456" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">from one of my favorite holiday movies...here's a gift for a cousin. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4dUHyBz1PfM/TPf1zZCgwuI/AAAAAAAAAcM/RMPpMRGYkZc/s1600/IMG_4311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4dUHyBz1PfM/TPf1zZCgwuI/AAAAAAAAAcM/RMPpMRGYkZc/s400/IMG_4311.JPG" width="266" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4dUHyBz1PfM/TPf19NRj-oI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/VbMQvPLU1Y8/s1600/oogie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4dUHyBz1PfM/TPf19NRj-oI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/VbMQvPLU1Y8/s400/oogie.jpg" width="295" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">ther'es a six" zipper and before i had stuffed it, a coloring book fit perfect in the pocket...but after, it's kinda hard...hahaha...i'm excited that i had enough bug fabric for the inside...his mouth is also a pocket for the crayons. </div><div style="text-align: left;"> </div><div style="text-align: left;">for the next one, i'll probably change the mouth pocket so it's longer (that way the crayons hide better), use a longer zipper for the coloring book (that way it's easier to get an 8"x10" coloring book out), and either find some more bug fabric or use some kind of "gambeling" fabric for it.. </div><div style="text-align: left;"> </div><div style="text-align: left;">oh..i should try to see if it glows in the black light...</div>metal mamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04867159811970897698noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2553886380163237222.post-1796470736595705322010-12-02T08:34:00.000-08:002010-12-02T08:41:11.603-08:00oh look....<div class="separator" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"></div><br />
